ABC4 (Provo, Utah) — According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, two residents of Utah County were defrauded of a total of $28,000 after falling victim to a cryptocurrency fraud scheme. The public is being alerted by investigators to emails suggesting the victims used their PayPal accounts to make purchases. The two victims, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, were asked to call a number in order to talk about the dubious transactions.   According to reports, the first victim was instructed to download the “Any Desk” app to his phone in order to help solve the issue.
